Project 1. ISTC Website UX Assessment Project

This is an ongoing project. My contribution is multifaceted and at the moment we concentrate on creating a user-focused website that aligns with ISTC’s mission. We want to create trusted, relevant and up to date content, and to foster community engagement. Below are some of the highlights of my contributions and outcomes.

Strategic Planning
  • Defined clear objectives with a member-centred approach.

  • Developed a multi-phased strategy for planning, design, implementation, and maintenance.

Content Strategy and Audit
  • Conducted a comprehensive content audit using tools like Screaming Frog to identify outdated information, broken links, and inconsistencies in navigation.

  • Collaborated on creating a visual sitemap using Miro to represent the website’s architecture and identify areas for improvement.

User Research and Personas
  • Designed and conducted user interviews to gather deep insights.

  • Analyzed data to define primary & secondary personas and develop user journeys.

  • Used insights to improve functionality and member engagement.

Website Design and Functionality
  • Proposed a member portal as a model for clarity and engagement.

  • Suggested a simplified navigation design to enhance usability.

Team Collaboration
  • Fostered a collaborative environment with tools like Basecamp, Zoom, Google meets, and Miro.

  • Structured updates, and task allocation to maintain project momentum.

  • Promoted sustainable volunteer involvement.

AI Integration
  • Explored AI tools for tasks like summarizing notes and analyzing user interviews.

  • Balanced automation with human oversight to ensure quality and ethical considerations.
